April Contests

Here’s a quick list of upcoming contests:

Disgruntledbear Spring Writing Contest  deadline: April 15th

Rules: Post a comment with the following: Title, Author, Genre, Awesome line (pitch,logline ect)
Prize:  In-depth query critique AND ten page critique.

Iclue deadline: unkown, but read the website

Rules: The idea behind this contest is to discover clues to mini stories and figure out secret passwords that enter you into the contest. It can be a little confuisng, but Beth Revis gives a thorough explanation on her blog (see link above).
Prizes:

• Win an iPod Touch by solving mysteries
• Win a signed copy of ACROSS THE UNIVERSE by commenting
• Win another signed copy of ACROSS THE UNIVERSE by commenting
• Win SIX SIGNED books by spreading the word 

Katy Upperman-Divergent Giveaway  Deadline April 15th

Rules:  Leave a comment telling me which faction you’d choose if you were a part of Beatrice’s        futuristic Chicago: Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent).
2. For a second entry, tweet about this contest, including a link to this post. Leave an additional comment letting me know about your tweet.
3. For a third entry, become a friend of this blog by signing up for an email subscription (in the column to the left). Leave an additional comment letting me know. I will verify this through the blog.

 Ebyss-pitch-250-word-contest 
 Deadline: April 17th
 Rules: US/Canda citizens only, be a follower of the blog, 140 charcter twitter pitch, 250 first words (don’t cut off a sentence), post in comment section (see link for details)
Prizes:
1st Place: Full critique of of manuscript or however much you have completed of WIP in a half-hour one on one session, AND signed copies of Nancy Holzner’s DEADTOWN and HELLFORGED and Wayne Simmons’ FLU and DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. These will be autographed to you.

2nd Place: Critique of first three chapters or the first 50 pages and a synopsis. You also get a book.

3rd Place: Critique of first chapter.

4th Place: Critique of first page and pitch.
