It’s true. I love movies almost as much as books. I can watch the same movie over and over and over again until it makes my husband nuts.
One thing I always try and do, is read the book before the movie. I am SOOOOO glad I read Twilight before the movie came into existence. My Edward was much hotter than Robert Patterson. Pretty much hotter than any other boy in existence–don’t judge. Of course, that was a very long time ago. (and no, I never went to the midnight launch at Borders for Breaking Dawn).
There have been movies that have portrayed the book horribly (Eragon) and movies that have been a real tribute to the story (LOTR). A long time ago, I watched Wuthering Heights (2009 version) because of that, I never read the book.

Ooh you thought of some good ones! I need to add Tempest and Perks. I saw Anna Karenina already, but may go back and read it this year. I read Jane Eyre last year just to prepare for the movie and I'm so glad I did!
I found Tempest off an IMDb list and saved it to my netflix queue. The movie didn't get great reviews on there, but we'll see.
Oh dear God, not Wuthering Heights. This may just be me, but I don't think it's possible to make a good movie version of a bad book. (Wuthering Heights and I…well, it's complicated.) The rest sound wonderful. 🙂

I took a while to read Hunger Games and broke my rule by seeing the movie first. It was almost enough to make me no want to read the books, but peer pressure convinced me they were better. Definitely better.I'll have to see how the second movie does.
Yay. I think the book is way more suspenseful.

I've tried twice to read CF, and each time I stop to read something else. Third time's a charm!
