GUTGAA Meet and Greet

If you haven’t heard about GUTGAA aka Gear up to meet an agent, go here

This awesome event is held by the lovely  Deana Barnhart

And now for the meet and greet! Here’s me. Yeah, this is what I do during work when I need a 2 minute break: Glamor shots! If anyone is interested in one, hit me up.

Bio:  I work full-time, have an awesome husband and 3yr old son, a big mushy pit and a daughter on the way. When I’m not busy playing Dragon Age, I’m writing and eating lots of chocolate. Oh, and I hail from Long Island, NY–HOLLA!

Questions for the Meet and Greet
-Where do you write? Mostly at work during my lunch hour.
-Quick. Go to your writing space, sit down and look to your left. What is the first thing you see? A printout out of BM% markups hanging on my wall—bet you’re dying to know what that is!
-Favorite time to write? Whenever I’m in the mood. I love writing when the spark hits. I can push out a ton of words and they don ‘t suck.
-Drink of choice while writing? A glass of Merlot–but considering I’m pregnant, water–and I don’t drink at work. That preference is strictly for home.
-When writing , do you listen to music or do you need complete silence? Depends. My last novel I listened to a ton of Florence and the Machine. This current wip, nothing so far.
-What was your inspiration for your latest manuscript and where did you find it? The idea came from a YA Highway RTW question about a year ago–and no, I’m not sharing, not yet.
-What’s your most valuable writing tip? Write when the mood strikes regardless of the time. Sometimes, it’s early in the morning or I’m just getting into bed and a resolution or thought will finally click. It’s times like those that I’ve written my best.
And that’s it! Thanks for stopping by and see you in GUTGAA!

  1. So cool that an RTW prompt sparked a novel for you!
And I like a glass of Merlot while writing, too (also at home, of course).

  2. I haven't been as successful writing at lunch while I'm at work, but I do get to work from home a few days a week officially now and it's much easier to transition from work mode to home/writing mode when I'm actually AT home. I suppose you need to grab those moments when you can.

  3. Hi Eliza! I like your writing tip about writing something down when you get an idea. So true. If you go to sleep thinking you'll remember it in the morning, you rarely do…

Good luck with GUTGAA and your WIP!

  4. Such a nice friendly pic there. lol
If I can't write when inspiration hits, I jot notes in my idea book for later. πŸ™‚

  5. Thanks for turning the captcha off. Makes life easier for the next person. Sounds like you have a good life. Good luck on finding an agent.
