Right now I’m reading Variant by Robison Wells. Every page adds a bit more to the mystery. The main character, Benson, goes off to a private boarding school. He thinks the school will finally be the break he needs, start a new life in a new place.

He was wrong.

The school is in the middle of nowhere with an impassable wall keeping the students in.

Oh, and there are no teachers, only gangs.

And all the doors lock you in at night.

None of the students understand the school or its purpose, but they know escape is useless.

Except Benson.

This week’s muse is The Noose by A Perfect Circle. It fits the dark tone and setting of this story. While I was reading, this song popped into my head, and I think it fits perfectly.
